Lonkirkop

Lonkirkop is a Maltese artist who primarily focuses on the art of printmaking. Currently, he is reading for his last year of his degree in Fine Arts at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology.

He has always been intrigued by the art of creating, however, the pivotal moment in his artistic experience was my introduction to printmaking techniques. The technical aspect, discipline and versatility found in printmaking are some of the reasons why he finds it to be so intriguing. Even though he mostly works in relief printing, he prefers to experiment with other printmaking techniques such as mezzotint, drypoint, frottage and monoprinting.

Social, current and controversial subjects are at the core of the work he produces. Social and current themes help him learn more about society whilst controversial subjects are fun to explore, however they can be very insightful.
