Chris Briffa

Chris Briffa (Malta, b. 1974), the son of a gifted carpenter, Chris completed his architecture degree from the University of Malta in 1999. For four years he then worked with architecture firm AP (Valletta) and later designed and ran Auntielucy; a design store selling high-end italian brands and interior design services.

Whilst roaming throughout Europe on EASA workshops in his student days, he also gained design credits at Virginia Tech (USA) and Politechrico di Milano (Italy); and travelled extensively throughout northen Italy visiting design fairs and various furniture industries before establishing his studio in 2004.

In a few years, his work has become synonymous with skillful design which moves away from stylistic mannerisms and is more concerned with proportion, materials and details. He is now a part-time design tutor at the University of Malta, and is busy following architectural projects both on Malta and overseas.
