Loris Morosini

The life and work of Loris Morosini (b. 1965, Koper, Slovenia) has been sculpted through his intimate relationship with nature, the quest for creativity in the field of visual arts, and his travelling lifestyle. In addition to encountering traditional art of different world cultures through study and acquiring knowledge and skills in the fields of photography and artistic manipulation of various materials, his creative maturation in the years 1990-1998 was characterized by the apprenticeship with the photographer Žare Veselič (Slovenia, Fiji) and the sculptor Masayuki Nagase (Japan, USA). After almost two decades of world travelling, he (re)turned back to his roots. At present Loris Morosini creates his sculptures in the landscape of the mysterious Istria, the Mediterranean region of Slovenia, where he has (re)discovered his ideal material, wood.
