Antonio Murgia was born in 1956 in Sardinia, Italy, and now lives in Cagliari. He studied Art and Cinematography at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan.
 
Antonio Murgia’s art takes inspiration from Pop. In the language of Pop Art, objects and shapes of daily life are emphasized because they are isolated and separated from their original context, but Murgia, channels romantic and expressive intensity to his works.
 
His multiple colours seem to speak, act and record the tones of emotions to become supporters of a private and deep expressiveness. With the engaging harmony between colour and expression, Murgia gives overwhelming humanity to his faces. Each and every one expresses a precise emotional identity. The look is dominated by the firmness of the eyes, that become languid, and seem to project themselves into another dimension, with soul.
